Hooked on Books for Kids recently received a grant of 40,000 brand-new books from First Book of Washington, D.C., and the group is in need of help to sort and organize the books on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 8 and 9. The books will be distributed to teachers and nonprofit groups in the Erie area.
Two-hour shifts are available during the day and evening (starting at 9 a.m. each day and running through 8 p.m.). The work will take place at the Shred-X warehouse, 2952 W. 22nd St.
Volunteers are also needed to help distribute the books to individuals and groups on Saturday, Oct. 11, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
